Hey guys
I havent run drifttechs before but I do know about injection moulding and I can tell you that the part will only be as good as the operator of the machine.
Essentially as the plastic is squirted into the tool it cools, the pressure, shot size (amount of plastic) and the temperature all contribute to the strength and quality of the final part. If its not hot enough then the plastic will be too cold when reaches the other side of the mould and merges into itself - this would be a weak point that would vulnerable to splitting.
Tooling design can also effect this but if some of you are having good experiences and some of you arent then there is definitely a manufacturing error probably down to one of the operators not getting it right. So definitely complain to Tamiya as it sounds as though their quality control of the drift techs is not tight and someone needs a reaming.
