Yeah, I have 2 brushless systems, a 5.5t and a 9t.

5.5t is in my TA-05 at the moment and 9t is in my TT-01E.

I would highly recommend brushless if you can afford it otherwise 23t would be fine.

EZrun 35a 9t combo. About US$90 on ebay. Exact same as Hobbywing,Yeah Racing (& a few other brands).
I also tried the EZrun 12T, was like running on a flat battery in comparison.
Motors available separatley here

It definatly depends what you are using the car for. Drifting, racing, just general mucking around.
If you were to go brushless you need more than just the motor and esc. Talk to a few of the guys here who have done a brushless set up on TT01's and find out which parts of the chassis you need to strengthen up with either alloy or carbon graphite parts.

Also havve you just started out?
If you have just started to get the feel for drifting it might feel like its time to upgrade the motor, dont upgrade to high too soon as you will find that the car is too fast for you. I started off with a TT-01 and a Johnson 540 silvercan stock motor. It was good for me to start drifting and learn the basics. Then I tried with a 15T and instantly handed the transmitter back to Reece (4DAPGS).
My upgrade went to a Tamiya Superstock RZ for faster drifts.

Now I can drift my TA05 with a 15T easy as.

All im saying is if you have just started dont get something too fast that you wont be able to control. If you find you can control it perfectly then sweet as!

i second that for someone just starting out im ot sure if you done general racing or anything but start with a 540 then move from there otherwise you might get sick of it cause your having trouble controlling it plenty of practice will see you move up pretty fast i use a 23t and i still have trouble with it find a nice big area to drift in as well so you dont do to much damage to your shell or find a basher shell you wont mind getting damaged cause it will happen 8) 8) 8) 8)

Honestly if you go 25t pinion,55t spur and sport tune youll be much impressed.
thats all youll need for drifting, even that gearing onto silver can is good
