Bro dont scare people off from Rewa then maybe after the Drift in Rewa we can head to the cossie club for cheap Feed & beers,
Yeah good going Ted at the end of the day this really just needs someone to get the ball rolling Im good either way as long as Im not the one organising it all mainly beacause Im pretty busy outside of RC Drifting but hey come to me with a plan of what you guys come up with and Im sure we could all agree on something. Also I would rather not incorporate it into the summer jams sunday sessions that Ive got going at the mo because Ive basically already sussed a format for it that works, and for a full series a different format will have to be conceptulised.
I agree with Phil as to aiming the big prizes at Rookies rather than the usuals as it gives them a whole lot more incentive to stay in the sport / hobby where as in the Pro Class most of us are here to stay anyway and we aint goin away anytime soon so if thiers more incentives for the Noobs it will help us build up our RC Drift Family, Im not saying cut the prizes out for Pros completely maybe if the bigger prizes went to the Noobs like a kit or something and the Pros won a body.
I dont really agree on Money as a prize, Basically if you can get a plan together and solid with dates Timetables for race days, Venues etc, Optional rain dates for outside meets, we could sort it out as a proposal and approach people such as Briggans who do Tamiya or any other RC related companies for sponsorship of prizes or even if the prizes are subsidised it will help also if we are going to run Driftechs as a control tyre then it would pay to approach Briggans.
Also putting tyres in the registraion fee I reckon is a good thing , the registration fee could also be put towards trophies & prizes, a price of about 60bucks each for registration and that could include a set of Tires Window Banners , Number stickers etc, and 15 or 20 bucks on the race days, the 15 could go to the indoor venues and the extra 5 bucks could go into a kitty that would be saved up for the last event where we could put it towards a mass BBQ and beers at prize giving. Does sound a little bit pricey but how many of us have walked outa speedi with a 200dollar bag of emptiness.
Also I know some of you guys have Signwriter mates, see if you guys could have a yarn to them about the stickers etc once we come up with a name of course... Free stuff is the best stuff , but subsidised cheap stuff is better than nothing
So guys once we have a solid plan we can write letters / emails to Rc companies to "sponser" the series but they need to see some solid ground work or we wont be taken seriously...
Keen to help where ever I can Ted just let me know bro.
Guys just my 50cents for now will let you know of anymore thoughts when they come to me. Better get back to the day job.
Also Bufton dont worry about being a Noob mate you'd be suprised how many noobs turn up to these things the last rookie class we had at CDZ was a full field of 8 with 3 people spare, having to be taken out in qualifying the more the merrier bro
INCREASE THE SICKNESS!!!!!
