First RC drift purchase

Postby g3t_my_drift » 28 Sep 2010 10:25

Hey guys,

I'm close to buying my first RC Drift car. I'm looking at the Tamiya R34 RTR drift spec kit as my first rc purchase but was wondering if I can upgrade the RC Transmitter to a 2.4ghz one and if they'll be any problems in doing so?

Cheers.

Where you buying it from?? 2.4ghz definately the way to go I would reccomend Futaba 3PMX or the Spectrum DSM gear. Im pretty sure Speedi Models has both...

Sweet, thanks guys. Yeah there's a couple of Tamiya RTR kits on trademe that I'm keeping a close eye on but then I stumbled upon www.toysonics.com and found they ship to nz. I'm now thinking of getting the HPI RTR E10 Drift Toyota Trueno AE86 kit and it works out at roughly $370NZD inc shipping. Is that a good option for me?

Anyone dealt with toysonics?? lol.

Cheers.

Yeah I watched a few HPI drifting vids on youtube and they look real nice. So at the moment I'm pretty torn between the tt01 and the hpi.

Also, should I be staying far away from the HSP Flying Fish RC drifts and their clones? They damn cheap...price wise.

Sweet man I'll take that into account. Can you use tt01 parts to upgrade the e10?
