Front Motor Conversions - Modern TA-03F!!!

Postby springninja » 11 Dec 2011 22:43

Pete told me about these - they are conversions which put the motor at the very front of the chassis - just like a TA-03F.
Pictures say it all.

Here's the link Pete sent me - TA-05 / VDF conversion:

Here's one I found - some Japanese dude's blog. Conversion for a Max Speed Technology MS-01D. This one is nice cause it uses 2 belts - not 3 like the TA-05 / VDF conversion:

Conversion for Street Jam OTA-R31:

If you find more of these conversions please post them here. I'm hoping someone in NZ will get one of these (or even better, make one) cause I reckon these are super cool. 8)

Cheers,
Richard

MST have announced a whole front motor chassis kit! still in developement stages but atleast they are the first ones to man up and put their name to a full on kit haha. cant wait to see the pricing, hopefully its not too rediculous so i can get one to go alongside my drb and replace my worn out bdm hahahaha.

I do like the finish of that active hobby conversion kit tho. looks almost as if tamiya made it themselves haha.

I like the layout of the MST over the TA-06 conversion personaly.
Looks like the MST chassis is about $350 us and $150 us for the front motor conversion.
Out of my budget.
Tamiya: make a V2 TA03f with 2 belts! I'll buy one.

@Ray. That looks pretty sweet - I like how the battery can be placed lengthways in the centre of the chassis. The cut-outs in the chassis look really manga-esque though - sorta tacky I reckon, lol. Cheers for the link.

@Pete. Yea you hit the nail on the head. Hopefully it's just a matter of time before Tamiya makes a TA03 V2.
